week 7 / # 17 - about technology
Technology is amazing, wonderful. It has become a part of our lives. I remember computer used to be as big as an old 19” tv many years ago, and look at computer today, specially the notebook, some weights even less than 3 lbs (remember a “regular” bag of sugar sold in groceries store weights 4 lbs.) Cell phone is another great invention, follow it, there is BlackBerry, then IPhone ... they are just a few techies available for us to use today. We rely so much on Internet in daily lives, reading news, sending emails, buying things, paying bills …. Technology is surely making our lives easier and the world much smaller.
week 7 # 16
Wikipedia is another great and easy internet tool. This would be very useful to people who liked to blog. They can share their favorite things (information on musics, books, restaurants, pets ...) with others, and learn additional contacts for these subjects while blogging as well. I'm not personnaly liked to blog but surely i've learned a great deal about things i like to do from these.
week3 / # 6
I‘ve used Picasa and Flicker in the past but I didn’t known there are so much more out there waiting for me to explore. But frankly, I don’t have time for this, just nice to know what’s available and how to use them. I’ve to admit, I did have a lot of fun with making my own trading card even I don’t know when I’m actually using this tool.

week 1
Last night was august full moon, base on lunar calendar, the very “perfect” rounded full moon of the year. It really was but I truly love the moon of the night after more than any moon night of the year. It still is “perfect” rounded, yellow cream, but the brightness is less makes it like reverie, farther away …

week 6: # 15 library 2 & web 2
I think Library 2.0 is just another different tool that libraries use to keep up with super fast technologies. As library customers become more technologically advanced, why shouldn't libraries. I read the perspective on Library 2.0 and agree with most of what was said except for "all " customer will want digital. Myself, I prefer to hold a book in my hand. I use computer to search for information I need but not for reading a book. I do agree that library will need to adjust to the future with tools and technologies and be user friendly. I like the fact public no longer "have" to go the the library for information. They can search the web, from their home, for any information they need. Hoooooray!!!
Library 2.0 and Web 2.0 are both great sites for everyone to use.

Week 6 : / Technorati
I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with all the sources of information. Blogs are reinventing the way we do alots of things. I feel sorry for people who don't know how to search on computers because these blogs are very powerful. I explored the popular blogs and found them pretty interesting. Technorati was an interesting tool to use. I did the advanced search for "Learning 2.0" under the Blog Posts and I got back a tremenduous number of sources, and the the tags came along too, and it also contained a brief detail about what the blogs were. I typed in the keyword "french bakery" and got about more than sixty thousands sources back, wow! When I want some new recipe, I know exactly to go to Technorati's french patisseries collection for a new ones!

week 5: library things
I found this web site is helpfull. I like it. Right now I do have a list of some of my favorite authors. I'll be adding them soon.
week 5: library elf
It's really a neat tool, even HCPL already has a program to remind me (patron) for this task. But i don't mind to have another "elf" keeping me on time on my check out materials so i can have a good history.
week 4: feeds
i just came back from my 3 weeks european vacation. i know i have alot to catch up. i've created my bloglines account and add a few feeds. But truly i don't see i'm going to use that account much. It's just good to know what's available out there.
