iHCPL was an interesting and rewarding experience. I have learned so many news things. Some I liked more than the other but overall, they are really fun, useful and wonderful.
Thru the journey, iHCPL has been an interesting and informative. I have discovered things like Del.icio.us, Wiki, Technorati, Zoho … some things for me to play with, some to use or just to know … they are available out there. I have learned that I will probably never feel comfortable with My Space.com, ever be into Podcasts, or use Library Elf. I specially liked the Avatars, the Flicker ... and definitely I will be using the Downloadable Media more often.
It has been a learning curve; knowledge is always benefited, no matter what it is. I am always willing to learn new things. I am grateful for this experience. Big applauds for those who worked to bring the iHCPL together. Jobs well done!
Thank you!

Week 9 # 22 / Downloadable
The downloaded media is really interesting. I never downloaded a book before. Now it seems easy enough which I want to try sometime soon. The HCPL E-Branch has a good selection and it was easy to use too.
I liked Wowio. It has an attractive website. The search is simple and detailed book description is very impressive.
LibriVox is less attractive but it contains free audio-books from the public domain and can give readers many choices.
There were so much more items I found interesting on our Overdrive. It's such a great way that you can burn the media onto CDs to use them later on.
This has been by far the most valuable exercise I have. And I like it.

week 9 # 21 / podcasts
I have learned for anyone that owns an IPod or MP3 player must subscribing to
poscasts. And for the three suggested podcast directories and finding tools, I
found the Podcast.net is the easiest one to use and not requiring download any
additional files to play.
After all the exploration, I think I’m not going to use this much. It’s just
too overwhelmed but always nice to know it's available whenever you need it.

week 9 # 20 / YouTube
I’ve been visited YouTube web site once a while. I think you can probably find anything on there that you are looking for. YouTube was fun. It was an easy to do and very enjoyable. But just like anything you do on the internet, be careful with your choices. There is one thing that I didn’t care much for was some of the comments used are offensive. I guess that is to be expected. Everyone has a right to their own opinion.
This afternoon, I’ve watched the Kenny G. - Have yourself a little Merry Christmas Video, it’s so sweet. I’ve enjoyed Charlie Brown – Christmas too, Linus explains what "Christmas is all about .... Christmas.”
I can spend all day just wonder around this website but I know I got to get up …

week 8 # 19 / web based apps
I've found that Zoho Writer web based word processing application works just like MS Word does (in which I normally use.) I am able to import a picture, perform a spellcheck, even select an “emotion faces” from the toolbar. The biggest advantage from Zoho over MS Word is that you can save on the Internet rather than on your hard drive. In addition, this way lets you to work individual or collaborate on a project no matter when and where you are. Then you can share it or just keep it for yourself. Is it wonderful?
I certainly can see this web applications is a huge usefullness of documents and spreadsheets. Having documents available 24/7 online for you or others (your family, friends …) to look at or edit as needed could be very helpful and fastest way.
Zoho is a great tool. It was so easy to set up an account. By then it is ready for you to launch your next project. I do have alot of fun.

week 8 # 18 / social networking
As a mother of 3 college students at one time, I’m familiar with these socialized web sites, MySpace, FaceBook,…. I did look at these pages for some time but never think I’ll create one myself.
Today I explored some more links like Linkein.com, Xanga.com, Yahoo360.com, Dogster.com … As much as I love my dog, I just can't see myself registering him on dogster, much less reading other entries.
The Ratemyspace.hgtv.com did gave me some interest but still not impressed enough for me to join the crowd. I rather pick up a phone for a chit chat or do lunch sometime with people I care about than sitting “alone” at home facing a monitor. Just wonder what’s next!

week 7 / # 17 - about technology
Technology is amazing, wonderful. It has become a part of our lives. I remember computer used to be as big as an old 19” tv many years ago, and look at computer today, specially the notebook, some weights even less than 3 lbs (remember a “regular” bag of sugar sold in groceries store weights 4 lbs.) Cell phone is another great invention, follow it, there is BlackBerry, then IPhone ... they are just a few techies available for us to use today. We rely so much on Internet in daily lives, reading news, sending emails, buying things, paying bills …. Technology is surely making our lives easier and the world much smaller.
week 7 # 16
Wikipedia is another great and easy internet tool. This would be very useful to people who liked to blog. They can share their favorite things (information on musics, books, restaurants, pets ...) with others, and learn additional contacts for these subjects while blogging as well. I'm not personnaly liked to blog but surely i've learned a great deal about things i like to do from these.
week3 / # 6
I‘ve used Picasa and Flicker in the past but I didn’t known there are so much more out there waiting for me to explore. But frankly, I don’t have time for this, just nice to know what’s available and how to use them. I’ve to admit, I did have a lot of fun with making my own trading card even I don’t know when I’m actually using this tool.

week 1
Last night was august full moon, base on lunar calendar, the very “perfect” rounded full moon of the year. It really was but I truly love the moon of the night after more than any moon night of the year. It still is “perfect” rounded, yellow cream, but the brightness is less makes it like reverie, farther away …

week 6: # 15 library 2 & web 2
I think Library 2.0 is just another different tool that libraries use to keep up with super fast technologies. As library customers become more technologically advanced, why shouldn't libraries. I read the perspective on Library 2.0 and agree with most of what was said except for "all " customer will want digital. Myself, I prefer to hold a book in my hand. I use computer to search for information I need but not for reading a book. I do agree that library will need to adjust to the future with tools and technologies and be user friendly. I like the fact public no longer "have" to go the the library for information. They can search the web, from their home, for any information they need. Hoooooray!!!
Library 2.0 and Web 2.0 are both great sites for everyone to use.

Week 6 : / Technorati
I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with all the sources of information. Blogs are reinventing the way we do alots of things. I feel sorry for people who don't know how to search on computers because these blogs are very powerful. I explored the popular blogs and found them pretty interesting. Technorati was an interesting tool to use. I did the advanced search for "Learning 2.0" under the Blog Posts and I got back a tremenduous number of sources, and the the tags came along too, and it also contained a brief detail about what the blogs were. I typed in the keyword "french bakery" and got about more than sixty thousands sources back, wow! When I want some new recipe, I know exactly to go to Technorati's french patisseries collection for a new ones!

week 6 / 13 : deliciousssssssssss

week 5: library things
I found this web site is helpfull. I like it. Right now I do have a list of some of my favorite authors. I'll be adding them soon.
week 5: library elf
It's really a neat tool, even HCPL already has a program to remind me (patron) for this task. But i don't mind to have another "elf" keeping me on time on my check out materials so i can have a good history.
week 4: feeds
i just came back from my 3 weeks european vacation. i know i have alot to catch up. i've created my bloglines account and add a few feeds. But truly i don't see i'm going to use that account much. It's just good to know what's available out there.

last night of september
i got lost
....
Moon River, wider than a mile: I'm crossin' you in style someday.
Old dream maker, you heartbreaker,
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin'your way.
Two drifters, off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end, Waitin' round the bend,
My huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.
....
